Shine the Light 4 Healthy Minds: Success!

Racers beginning the 5k run

Thank you to all runners, walkers, volunteers, and attendees of the inaugural Shine the Light 4 Healthy Minds 5k Event! A few dozen runners and walkers came out to the Eagle Harbor Township Park this past Saturday, June 29, to raise money for Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Mind (KS4HM), a local, grassroots volunteer organization dedicated to promoting mental health through connection and community.

Their mission focuses on suicide prevention by reducing stigma, educating the public about mental health and substance use disorders, and supporting individuals at risk of crises. Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds is a Special Project of the Keweenaw Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity. The event was a joint effort with the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office, which held a public safety fair immediately following the 5k.

This event was made possible through the work of many volunteers and community sponsors. A special thank you to the volunteers from Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds, Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office, and Eagle Harbor Township.
