Finlandia Foundation National - Annual Board Meeting and Public Celebrations!

 

Finlandia Foundation National (FFN) is a national organization that keep Finnish-Americans and their local chapter organizations connected, inspired, and committed to maintaining an awareness of their unique and vibrant culture.

The following itinerary displays the schedule for events surrounding the Finlandia Foundation National’s annual board meeting being held locally in April 2024. FFN is planning several community events and invites local community members to attend - we hope to see you there!

Thursday, April 11, 2024

3:00 - 4:45pm Kahvi ja Pulla by Nisu, FAHC

Join us at the Finnish American Heritage Center for a Kahvi ja Pulla FFN Community Meet and Greet. FFN Board Members, guests, and community members will have a chance to gather and talk. Finnish pastries and coffee will be provided by the local Nisu Bakery.

1:30pm-2:15pm Re-Opening Ceremony of the FAHC

All FFN Board Members, guests, staff, and community members are invited to meet outside of the Finnish American Heritage Center for a ribbon cutting ceremony and re-opening of the Finnish American Heritage Center. You will hear speeches, enjoy performances, and take part in the flag raising and ribbon cutting by FFN.

Inclement Weather Plan: If the weather does not permit us to meet outside the FAHC, we will meet in the Hall inside the FAHC until capacity is reached.

7:00pm Finlandia Art Gallery, Reception with Heather Hietala, FAHC

We invite everyone to join us at this opening reception at Finlandia Art Gallery with Finnish-American artist Heather Hietala. Made possible in part by a grant from American Scandinavian Foundation, Heather is part of a collaboration project between the Finnish American Folk School and Finlandia Art Gallery. There will be light snacks and beverages available. Enjoy a nice evening of art together with us.

3:00 - 5:00pm Lecturer of the Year at Chapel of St. Matthew with North Wind Books (RSVP REQUIRED)

FFN Lecturer of the Year, Hanna Pylväinen, will give a public lecture followed by a book signing.The event will be open to the public. RSVP for this event is essential.
