What We Heard: Insights from the 2024 KCF Community Impact Survey

We appreciate the 250+ community members who participated in our Community Impact Survey. Your input ensured a comprehensive regional perspective, representing a broad range of ages from 25 to 65+ and spanning all local school and tax districts within Keweenaw and Houghton Counties. Your feedback helps us understand our community’s needs and how KCF can collaborate with partners to address them.

1. Strengthening Communication and Awareness

We heard loud and clear that many in our community want to know more about who KCF is and what we do. To address this, we are:

  • Launching an impact report to keep the community informed and engaged.

  • Prioritizing relationship building by investing in staff capacity to enhance outreach and engagement.

2. increasing our community resources

Local organizations and individuals needed more resources and infrastructure to help them succeed. In response, we will:

  • Develop an additional funding opportunities webpage for our website to connect community members with more available grant opportunities.

  • Tailor our Nonprofit Education & Networking Series to address community needs directly.

  • Conduct focus groups to explore volunteer needs and improve communication for events and services.

3. Expanding Community partner event support

Organizations need accessible event equipment and technology to support their work. That’s why KCF is:

  • Launching a free equipment rental service to provide access to multi-media tools, virtual event technology, and event supplies for community partners.

4. Continued Commitment to Learning

Community needs are always evolving, and we are committed to ongoing exploration, listening, and learning, ensuring our work remains impactful and we align our resources with community priorities.
