Let’s Rebuild Community - Helping with Home Maintenance

July 11, 2023, Houghton County, MI — Let’s Rebuild Community is a local non-profit organization formed to help seniors, veterans, and persons with disabilities who have difficulty with painting their own homes or keeping up with landscaping. The goal of Let’s Rebuild Community is to help people maintain their most important asset - their homes. After this year’s application process, four homes have been selected in the Calumet-Laurium area to kick off the program this summer.

Volunteers are still needed for this project! Volunteer teams will paint the exterior of the selected homes over two weekends this summer. Volunteers will also do landscaping touch-ups as time permits during the work days. Any significant safety concerns identified outside of the house will also be addressed. This program is made possible through the work of volunteers as well as funding for materials and professional services from local community organizations which include:

• Herman Gundlach Fund held at the Keweenaw Area Community Foundation

• Keweenaw Area Community Foundation

• McGann Building Supply

• Sherwin Williams Paint Store
