The fund directly supports the long-term stewardship and care of the Marsin Nater Area’s 10-acre wetland habitat, owned by the Keweenaw Land Trust (KLT), a nonprofit organization committed to conserving the lands and waters of the Keweenaw Peninsula. KLT’s stewardship ensures that the Marsin Wetlands remain a vibrant and protected part of our community. This property is additionally protected by a conservation easement held by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).
