The Keweenaw Community Critical Stress Management Team is a group of trained volunteers whose shared goal is to provide a community based critical incident debriefing team to address community needs.

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) is a comprehensive system of activities designed to lessen the effects of a critical incident or traumatic event. It consists of, education, defusing, and debriefings.

Major recovery goals of CISM include: getting the individual and community back to normal functioning as quickly as possible; regaining a sense of control; gaining understanding of the event and its impact; and re-establishing a sense of equilibrium.
