Sponsors Announced - Shine the Light 4 Healthy Minds 5k Run/Walk Fair
The Keweenaw Community Foundation, in collaboration with Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds and the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office, announces the sponsors of the Shine The Light 4 Healthy Minds 5K Run/Walk Fair, taking place on June 29, 2024, at Eagle Harbor Township Park in Eagle Harbor, MI.
This fundraiser is for Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds, a local, grassroots volunteer organization dedicated to promoting mental health through connection and community. Their mission focuses on suicide prevention by reducing stigma, educating the public about mental health and substance use disorders, and supporting individuals at risk of crises. Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds is a Special Project of the Keweenaw Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity.

“Each of the sponsors commented that it’s very important to them to support the mental health of our community. Some sponsors said, 'It's a worthy cause,’” stated Michelle Morgan, Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds volunteer.
Sponsors at the levels above will receive recognition on the event’s webpage and signage, media releases, and having their business name on the back of the race T-shirts (must have donated before June 12th to be included on the race T-shirts). About the Event
The Shine the Light 4 Healthy Minds Fair will begin with a 5K trail run/walk and a kids' dash, followed by the Keweenaw County Sheriff's Office free public safety event. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female 5K finishers and the top three kids' dash finishers. In addition to the 5K, the Fair will offer a variety of free activities for all ages, including activities for kids. For example, kids can explore fire trucks and police cars up close and play basketball with police officers. Free hotdogs and refreshments will be provided. A limited number of 5K T-shirts will be available to purchase at the event. Follow the event on Facebook.

9:00 am: Racers pick up race packets
10:00 am: 5K race starts
Following 5K: Kids Dash starts (ages eight and under)
11:00 am - 2:00 pm: Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety event

It has been such a great event where the public can come out and have conversations with our first responders and firefighters.
