Grant Applications Now Open for Fall 2024
We are pleased to announce that several of our endowment funds are now accepting grant proposals for Fall 2024. These funds are dedicated to supporting a diverse range of community-focused initiatives. If you have a project that aligns with any of the following funds, we encourage you to apply.

Community Impact Fund: supports programs or projects that tackle community challenges and seize opportunities. We welcome projects in areas like the environment, arts, volunteer efforts, music, women and girls’ initiatives, recreation, community development, social services, and overall quality of life improvements. Maximum request: $3,000.
CLK Youth Hockey Fund: Supports youth hockey in the Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw area. Maximum request: $2,300.
David Wiitanen & Slim McLean Memorial Youth Hockey Fund: Supports youth hockey in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties. Maximum request: $2,800.
Environmental Fund: Supports projects or programs related to environmental topics, including public health, community development, environmental stewardship education, public policy, planning, water, wildlife, and outdoor recreation. Maximum request: $2,600.
Houghton County Historical Preservation Fund: Supports local historical preservation or education projects in Houghton County. Maximum request: $1,200.
Joe Freed Empowerment Fund: Supports programs and projects that empower individuals with mental and/or intellectual or developmental disabilities. Maximum request: $4,200.
Keweenaw Cross Country Skiing Fund: Supports cross-country skiing programs or projects in Houghton or Keweenaw County. Maximum request: $2,500.
Kellogg Youth Endowment Fund: Supports new or existing programs that directly benefit youth in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties. Maximum request: $9,300.
Copper Shores Community Wellness and Recreation Fund: Supports programs or projects that promote physical activity, healthy nutrition, and expand outdoor recreational resources, with a special focus for 2024 on enhancing access to outdoor recreation through universal design and making activities more accessible to under-resourced families and individuals. This fund is available for projects in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, or Ontonogan Counties. Maximum request: $40,000.
