12/18/23 | December Keweenaw Heartlands Updates
As 2023 comes to a close we wanted to take a moment and thank the community for their thoughtful feedback on the Keweenaw Heartlands project at public meetings, via email and over the phone, and just around town. Together, we have accomplished a great deal — from finalizing the Blueprint for the Keweenaw Heartlands to a comprehensive inventory of the Heartlands and so much more.
A new year often brings feelings of hope, excitement or resolve, and we share many of those as we look ahead to 2024 and the next phases of this project. While we will be taking a little time off around the holidays, we always welcome your thoughts, questions or concerns at keweenaw@tnc.org
Wishing you and your families a warm, happy, and safe holiday season.
November public meeting video, list of Advisory Committee members available online
If you missed our last public meeting on Nov. 29, you can now view the recording online. The PowerPoint slides from the presentation are also available so it’s easier to follow along. One of the announcements during the meeting was the formation of a Project Advisory Committee, which has evolved from the project’s phase I Stakeholder Planning Committee. This committee will provide their perspectives and advice to The Nature Conservancy on how best to proceed with various facets of the project. You can view members of the committee on the Keweenaw Heartlands Project website.
