Thanks to the Caring for Keweenaw Cats Fund, cats will receive the care and attention they need.

The Caring for Keweenaw Cats Fund was established through the generosity of an anonymous donor and his wife, who are passionate cat lovers. After realizing there was little support for cats in the Keweenaw, they decided to take action. Although they no longer live in the area, they wanted to ensure a lasting impact on the animals they love. This donor-advised fund will continue to provide support for local cats forever, creating a legacy of compassion and care for the feline community.

The first donation from the Caring for Keweenaw Cats Fund was made to the Keweenaw Spay Neuter Assistance Group (KSNAG), an organization dedicated to reducing the stray cat population through affordable spay and neuter services. KSNAG’s work aligns perfectly with the fund’s mission, and this partnership marks the beginning of a lasting effort to improve the lives of cats in our community. Learn more about KSNAG

The mission of the Caring for Keweenaw Cats Fund is simple: to care for and protect the vulnerable feline population in our area. Through financial contributions from community members, this fund can help with:

  • Spaying/neutering services to help control the stray cat population

  • Food and medical care for stray and feral cats in need

  • Temporary shelter for cats until they find their forever homes

  • Emergency veterinary services for injured or sick cats
