Cheers to This Year’s Successful Brewfest

Proceeds raised help support the over 100+ funds and organizations that improve our community's quality of life

August 29, 2017

Keweenaw Community Foundation’s 8th  annual Keweenaw Brewfest  was held on August 26th. The proceeds raised at the event help support the 100+ funds and organizations that reinforce our mission of inspiring giving that invests in our community’s quality of life.

We would like to thank the City of Houghton for hosting the event, Pisani, Peterlin, and McCabe for the beer distribution, as well as all breweries for contributing the many available beverages; Bonfire Grill, Captain Matt’s Fish n’ Chips, The Fitz, Suomi Restaurant, and Vollwerth’s for providing food for purchase, and Bob Hiltunen & Funky Brewster for entertaining the crowd with live music. We would also like to recognize the wonderful volunteers that helped make the event possible.

Attendees purchased tickets in which all proceeds will support the community. In return, ticket holders received a complimentary glass they could use to enjoy over 200 different beer options, as well as hard ciders and seltzers that were available. The gathering brought together a vast amount of people who were able to drink, eat, and rock out to some awesome live music. We are amazed at the level of giving that occurs in the area, and we could not function without the community’s support.
